In a historic and cultural milestone, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, and Her Majesty, the Olori of Warri Kingdom, have proudly presented the Itsekiri Bible to the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C. This remarkable event signifies a deep connection between the Itsekiri people’s rich heritage and their Christian faith.
The Itsekiri Bible, a translation of the Holy Scriptures in the native language of the Itsekiri people of Nigeria’s Niger Delta, is a testament to the commitment to preserving and promoting indigenous languages while spreading the message of Christianity. The presentation is part of a larger effort to share Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage with the world and foster greater understanding and appreciation of its people.
