“I didn’t just bring a suitcase-I brought a lifetime of dreams.”
– Roxanne, Founder of Short Stuff
When Roxanne left her home in India to pursue a new life in the United States, she carried more
than a passport and paperwork. She brought a bold vision to create something magical-a brand that
would celebrate curiosity, learning, and comfort for the next generation. Today, she’s the
powerhouse behind Short Stuff, a mom-owned, immigrant-founded sleepwear company that’s
redefining what bedtime can be.
The Roots of Curiosity
Raised in a vibrant household in India, Roxanne grew up surrounded by books, stories, and the
spark of imagination. “I was always curious,” she recalls. “Even when I didn’t have much, I had my
dreams.” That innate love of learning would later become the foundation for Short Stuff’s
storybook-inspired collections.
When she became a mother in the U.S., Roxanne began searching for pajamas that weren’t just soft
or stylish-but meaningful. “I wanted more than just cute clothes,” she explains. “I wanted something
that could inspire wonder.”
Building a Brand With Heart
In 2020, Short Stuff was born-an intentional blend of luxuriously soft, hypoallergenic bamboo fabric
with storytelling and education woven into every stitch. Each pajama set includes a beautifullyillustrated children’s book that connects to the print, sparking meaningful conversations at bedtime.
Her designs are gender-neutral, seasonless, and made to be passed down-reflecting her
commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. “I believe kids should feel free to be who they are, and
clothes should support that,” she says.
One Woman. One Vision.
Unlike big box retailers, Roxanne runs Short Stuff with the personal touch of a family business. She
answers customer messages herself, packs orders, and oversees every design detail. As an
immigrant woman and solo founder, she’s built the company with grit, resilience, and heart.
“People underestimate the power of a small business-especially one led by a mom,” she smiles.
“But we know how to multitask, we know how to dream big, and we know how to fight for the things
we believe in.”
Beyond Pajamas: A Mission in Motion
Short Stuff is more than a sleepwear brand. It’s a movement to bring educational, ethical, and
joy-filled products into homes everywhere. From multilingual books to globally inspired prints,
Roxanne’s vision is about raising kids who are not only cozy-but curious, compassionate, and
connected to a bigger world.
“My goal isn’t just to dress children. It’s to empower them-and their families-to dream out loud.”
– Roxanne, Founder of Short Stuff
