A complete fingerboard is more than wheels or a premium fingerboard deck plus; each piece of equipment has its unique design and function.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to assemble a fingerboard

Connect the Fingerboard Truck

So, you unbox your new fingerboard and take everything out of the box. 

Start by attaching fingerboard trucks to the decks. These trucks usually are not pre-threaded, and you can quickly attach them to the deck. While unboxing the fingerboard box, you’ll find a packet of screws having 8 pieces. Connect the fingerboard truck to the deck using these screws.

If you are attaching it for the first time, you’ll find it challenging. Before connecting a fingerboard deck, it’s better if you place the screws first. It will simplify your work. After this, you can remove the screws and attach the trucks to the deck. 

  • Put the Wheel on the Axle – So, you completed your first step. Now, it’s time to put the wheels on the axle. You must be careful that the broad side of the wheel faces the exterior. First, place the nut into the tool. Secondly, tighten the wheel to the axle. Lastly, the nuts must be tight but refrain from jamming the wheel and rotating freely.
  • Apply the Graphic Tape/Wrap – Peel off the tape sheet and place it on top of the board. Cover the entire top and ensure there are no air bubbles. Use a file to shape the graphic to match the board’s shape and remove excess tape. 
  • Make Holes Through the Tape – Make holes through the tape with the help of a pin or any sharp pointed tool. 
  • Screw the Trucks into the Deck – With the use of the right tool, screw the truck into the deck. The parts of the truck’s bushings and nuts must be inwards and towards the other trucks. In case your screw drops down while doing consider using a magnet. All hardware is magnetic, so slowly hover the magnet over where your screw dropped. 
  • Put on the Wheels – It’s time to put the wheel on every wheel axle and use a tool to screw it with the nut. Bearings must be close to the trucks.
